football season, friends, and bad news

Hey everyone! Hope you guys are having a good weekend so far. My weekend is going ok, but there was a bit of a speed bump today (i'll explain later). So today started the football season here in Lexington, with the UK vs. U of L game. My dear friend, Kristin, came into town last night for the game (she goes to U of L but she wore UK stuff so a. she wouldn't get crap all day and b. she actually wanted UK to win). So we woke up this morning had breakfast at McDonalds and then went back to my dorm and hung out until we were going to go tailgating. We went to my friend, Patrick's fraternity and tailgated and it was pretty fun. Here are some pictures:

Tailgating with Pat!

Fun! Fun! So at about noon Pat, Kristin, and I decided we wanted to go get Chipotle. We are walking down the street and then the speed bump hits us. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Kristin got a text from a high school friend of ours back in Louisville. A friend of ours, Jacob, was at a bonfire last night and some kid threw gasoline on him. He is now in UK burn center with 2nd degree burns covering 50% of his body. Jacob and I brieftly dated in middle school/high school and had lost touch from our freshman to junior year. But in our senior year we had a class together and we reconnected and became great friends. He is such a good guy, he loves to have a good time, and he has one of the funniest laughs you will ever hear and I love it. This summer, we hung out a few times and we'd always have a great time. Then we said our goodbyes and he went off to Lindsey Wilson College on a wrestling scholarship. Its crazy to think that life can all come crashing down and changed so quickly. I was/still am in shock. Here are a few pictures of me and Jake...

Please please please pray for him. He's a fighter and he will pull through. He's gonna bounce back from this, but right now he really needs our prayers. This is such a tragic accident and I hope it all turns out ok. Please God let him be ok.

Thanks guys. I'll talk to you soon.
