FINALLY! Some good news!

All I have to say is... ABOUT TIME! This whole summer I have been getting bad news (being wait-listed for housing, not getting my grant money until a month after school started, etc). But on Monday, while I was in my Public Speaking class I got GREAT news!

I got into a dorm! Not only a dorm but a suite! I'm going to be living in Keeneland Hall. (I'll add pictures of it on Friday or Saturday when I go home and can upload pictures.) The room is nice... small but hey its a dorm, what do you expect? One of the great things about Keeneland Hall is that I don't have to share a bathroom with my entire floor. My roommate and I share a bathroom with the two girls that live next to us and no one else. Thank God! I'm so happy!

So this weekend I'm driving home to buy a whole bunch of stuff for my dorm and then driving back down on Sunday with the parents to move into my dorm. I'll post a whole bunch of pictures when I move in because for week I'll be using my desktop computer until I get my Mac in two weeks. I can't wait for you all to see my new place.

I will live missing with my adopted family members though. Ben and Jen aka the cutest couple ever, were absolutely wonderful to live with and I cant thank them enough for helping me out and giving me a place to live for two weeks. Thanks so much guys! Ya'll are wonderful and I'll miss you both!

In other news, classes are going good this week. I've been taking soooo many notes and doing homework. But I'm really really liking Lexington just missing my family and friends a whole lot. Thankfully, I get to (hopefully) see Jessie next weekend when she comes back to NKY for the long weekend. And then the weekend after that I'm going to Nashville to visit her and I'm really excited.

Just to let you know, you'll be getting many more posts then you have, now that I'll have my computer with me. So watch out for that! Alright well I have to get going, I've got ENG 101 homework calling my name. I'll talk to you guys soon!

Morgan

goodbyes

Hey everyone! Just to let you know I added the pictures I promised to my previous post... so check 'em out! The weekend is finally here and I'm back home in Northern Kentucky. I came home for two reasons: 1. I wanted to see my family and friends 2. all of my best friends were leaving for college this weekend and I wanted to come up to say goodbye to them. So, after babysitting on Thursday I jumped in my car and zoomed home, ate dinner with my parents and then went over to my best friend, Jessie's house. While there, we had a little impromptu shin-dig, one last party, or as some might call it a going away party. It was the perfect excuse to get together with all of my friends and just hang out before we all go our separate ways. Here are a few pictures from the party...

I freaking love these boys!

Ross and Patrick.

This is Rita aka my other mom. She is wonderful and I love her!

Whenever I'm with my friends I know I'll always have a good time! I love my crazy friends. :)

Today has been an insanely tough day for me. 100x harder than I imagined. Today, I had to say goodbye to my best friend, Jessie, who is moving to Nashville to go to college. Here's some of my favorite pictures of us...

Whale riding in Publix.

Disney World

She was supposed to leave at 3 but thankfully, they didn't leave till 5:30, so I got to spend a little more time with her. I thought I was going to be ok. I thought I would be able to hold it in but as soon as the cars started up and I hugged her... waterworks. After finally letting go, she drove off and I was a wreck. I didn't stop crying all the way home and I couldn't see a damn thing. I'm going to miss that girl so freaking much. We haven't spent more than a week apart and now she lives 300 miles away. You're one of a kind Jess. I love you with all my heart. Remember...

Well in other news, I'm driving back down to my new home, Lexington, on Sunday and starting up my second week of college! Have an awesome weekend and I'll talk to you guys soon!

first days of classes!

Hey everyone! I'm officially a college student! Today was my second day of school and it was pretty good. All my classes are great and my professors don't seem that bad. Thank god! During every class I could slowly hear my life being sucked of fun. I can already tell that I'll be in the library A LOT! But I expected that... it is college.

The first day I got here (and since I've moved down), I'll admit I was a little homesick but a wonderful card from my best friend, Jessie, some CD's she made me, and some photos that I had printed off really helped me! In a big big way! These are a few of the pictures that I have sitting next to my bed...

These kids are the best. I love the Belden's and to me they're my second family. I miss you guys so much!

Such a good night. Me, Jess, Kay and Ross. Love you guys!

Carrying Jess in Disney World.

My best friends and I at the Blink 182 concert. Dan, Pat, Me, Jess and Rossy. Miss you guys!

Today, after my classes, I went to the bookstore to buy all of my books. And naturally the one book that I need to do homework tonight is sold out and they have to order more. Just my luck! So now I'm forced to wake up tomorrow at 7:00 AM and drive to school and beat everyone to the library and check out the Math book (you're only allowed to check it out for 2 hours at a time) and photo copy it so I can do my homework. Today in my math class, my professor went over her syllabus for 30 minutes and then used the rest of her time giving us notes and assigning homework, on the first day of class. WOO HOO! But in all of my other classes, I haven't gotten any homework, except to look somethings up and buy the books. All of my classes probably have 20-35 people. Thankfully, I don't have any classes with 300 people.

I started babysitting on Monday and I love it. The kids are great and I'm really enjoying it!

After babysitting I usually go run some errands, get some dinner (chick-fil-a last night, freeeakkkiiinng love that place), coming home, do homework and watching some TV and relaxing. Next week it'll all change when my friends move down to come to school. I'm verryyy excited. I'll be hanging out with them all the time : )

Hope everyone is doing well. I miss you ALL very much!

And Uncle Dan... it smells like up dawg in here!

Love,
Morgan

The Next Chapter In My Life

Hey everyone! Welcome to my new blog!

I decided to create this blog so my friends and family can follow me on my journey as I make the long awaited move to Lexington tomorrow. It's finally here. The moment I've been excited about (and dreading) all summer. Don't get me wrong I'm so excited to live in Lexington but there are a few things I'm going to miss...

My beautiful Mom. She's been able to cry on a dime lately. She's about to become an empty nester and therefore she's going to be stuck with this 24/7...

Good ol' Dave. :)

I'm going to miss all of my friends but I'm really going to miss...

My Best Friend, Jessie. She's moving to Nashville next week to go to college.

My big sister, Shan. She just moved to SC from Lexington (A WEEK BEFORE I MOVE DOWN... thanks sis!) I'm going to miss her!

My sweet little kitty, Kobe. He is my shadow, loves to cuddle me, and when I hold him he acts like a baby and won't let me put him down. I'm really going to miss this little boy.

Here I'll tell you all about college, my life, good times and bad, friends, and how this adventure is going. I'm quite excited to be moving tomorrow. For a few weeks, I'm going to be staying with two friends who also happen to be the cutest married couple EVER, Jen and Ben, until I find a more permanent place to live. I leave sometime tomorrow and I don't have a single thing packed. :) I'm putting it off as long as I can so that reality of leaving won't hit me. I start school on Monday and I'm not going to lie... I'm a little terrified. I'm taking 5 classes my first semester. And this is what my schedule looks like:

Monday and Wednesday:
9:30 AM- 10:45 AM History of the US through 1865
11:00 AM - 12:15 PM American Government
12:30 PM- 1:45 PM Basic Public Speaking
And then at 3, I babysit. Only on Monday and Wednesday. I'm really excited :)

Tuesday and Thursday:
11:00 AM- 12:15 PM Advanced Algebra
12:30 PM- 1:45 PM Writing I

Don't my classes look super fun and exciting!?! (thats big sarcasm, if you can't tell) For my first year of college I'm going to take the required courses and get them out of the way. And so it gives me more time to figure out my major because I have NO idea what I want to do.

Well this week I'm going to work, go to school, explore my new city, (hopefully) make new friends and on Thursday night I'm driving back home to NKY for the weekend. Until next time... and WELCOME to the best days of your life. :)

Love,
Morgan
