could you be loved and be loved?

in case you dont know, my blog title is an AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING song by Bob Marley called "could you be loved". i have been listening to summer-y music alllll week getting amped up for summer. and to me Bob just screams summer. i have his CD's in my car and I cannot help but put my windows down, arm out the window, hair down, and music up when i hear his music. a good friend of mine shares my love for Bob and has a huge Bob Marley tattoo on his bicep. its a gorgeous tattoo and really well done and one of my favorite tattoos i've ever seen on someone. thats commitment and i love Bob but won't be getting a tattoo any time soon.

life in lexington is going good. just working on homework and about to come down to the home stretch. there are a lot of tests coming up and a some papers due but in a month it will be alllllll done. thank god!

it's definitely been awhile since i've updated and we have some stuff to catch up on. two weeks ago i went to SC to visit my sweet sister and her lovely boyfriend. we had sooo much fun! it was relaxing and we laughed soo much all weekend. while I was there we celebrated Andy's birthday.

thats shakey on his birthday. while they were both at work i decorated the entire apt. with streamers and birthday games. we played je-party (same game as jeopardy just with a much cooler name) and pin the tail on the donkey. it was amazing. it was a great party and a huge success. sorry that was one of the only pictures i took. we suck so bad at taking pictures. we'd much rather just hang out then worry about pictures (which drives my mom up the wall, sorry momma) .

driving to SC was crazy. being in a car by myself for 7 hours by myself was insane. it took me about 9 hours to drive down there though because it rained the ENTIRE way. and not a drizzle, it felt like a hurricane. tons of wind, pouring rain, and really windy country roads. it SUCKED. but seeing Shan and Andy made it soo much better.

the drive back home was sooo much better! it looked like this the whole way home...

BEAUTIFUL!

that was a great great week spent with two of my favorite people in the world.

i'm very excited for this weekend. tomorrow is the annual hang out with my two favorite boys night. i'm SO excited! they make me laugh until my stomach hurts. i cant wait to see them tomorrow. friday is supposed to be veryyy nice back home, so im going to spend the day tanning in my back yard. i'm soooo pale i'm pretty sure a polar bear is more tan than i am. one day this weekend is going to be spending a whole day painting and hanging with my cat. then i'm also hanging out with Jess sometime this weekend. sounds like a great weekend to me!!!!

by the way can we just quit this whole pollen is "extremely high in your area" crap? im really allergic to this stuff and ragweed and right now they're as big as Lady Gaga. my nose is soooo stuffed and my eyes are oh so crazy swollen. lack of sleep/pollen is not making Morgan a happy girl. but oohhh well.

well thats about it. nothing else is going on here but i hope you guys have a great weekend and i'll try and take some pictures this weekend. talk to you guys next week.

love love love,
Morgan

this time baby I'll be bulletproof...

oh my sweet family and friends! it's about time i wrote a little blog. hell week is officially OVER and the fun is about to begin.

this weekend was a blast. my thursday nights are a tradition to hang out with two of my favorite boys...

that's Greg, being held by Kris. that's just them being them.

these crazy boys are the funniest, craziest, best guys. they make me laugh so hard and tell the funniest stories. this week, they both came over to my house and then we tried to figure out where we were going that night. We decided on going to Gameworks, dinner, and then t see Alice in Wonderland. We played around at Gameworks for a few hours then went to dinner then back to Gameworks then to see Alice. The movie wasn't that great. I'd give it a 5 out 10, and that's being generous. it definitely didn't live up to it's hype which was disappointing. then after the movie, we went to late night waffle house until 4:30. it was wonderful. i can always count on having a good time with these crazy boys.

the rest of the weekend was spent hanging out with my family, eating good food, relaxing, shopping for birthday presents, and hanging out with the boys again.

this week is an extremely easy week. i could pretty much sleep through it if i wanted to. no tests, nothing due. just class. ill take that! just getting through it and onto this weekend will be awesome. thursday afternoon, im driving back home to trade cars with my momma and hang out with her for the night. at 12:01 a.m., my mom and i will be going to see...

yep, im going to be that girl and go at midnight. but why do you ask? because i heard the movie is absolutely amazing and two. they're showing the new eclipse trailer before it. thats why. were both very excited.

friday morning, i will be driving down, by myself, to...

im sooooo excited! i will be spending a little over a week down in SC with my sweet sister and her sweet boyfriend. i CANNOT wait. i wish this stupid school week would hurry up. stupid school.

well my friends, other than that, that's about it. nothing really new going on in my life but i am getting a bit tired and would like to get some sleep. i'll talk to you guys soon! goodnight!

love love love,
Morgan

song of the week: "bulletproof" by la roux. its my latest obsession and i will be rocking out to it the whole way down to SC. im excited!

dorm days...

Hey everyone! I finally FINALLY have internet in my dorm room so you'll be getting many more posts! Dorm life is going really well. I'm liking it a lot. Keeneland is one of the nicest and oldest dorms at UK. My roommate, Amie, is a really cool outgoing girl and I like her a lot. Living on my own and coming and going as I please is a definite plus. Also, eating what I want when I want (don't judge me for this Mom!) is quite nice. For example, my first night here in the dorm, Amie (the roommate) and I had a wonderfully nutritious dinner of grapes and m&m's. I guarantee my Mom is going atleast she ate grapes! haha

In other news, I've slowly been decorating my room and we keep trying to hang up our cork boards with duct tape (you're not allowed to nail anything to the walls) but every night while were asleep they fall down, so we've given up hope. This is what my dorm looks like...

This is the little shelf area above our drawers where we keep anything and everything. Especially food.

This is the roommate, Amie, on her side of the room. Note the Jimi Hendrix poster. Hell yes. Another plus, while I was moving in she was playing Bob Marley. Can't beat that!

This is my little desk area next to my closet. It's a little messy because I'm still hanging up pictures. I'm pretty much done... just waiting for the other 50 I ordered from Kodak to come in the mail. :)

This would be my bed (and the new backpack on the floor). Now, you might be thinking, 'why did she pick out such a plain bedspread?" Well, here in Keeneland, because were so old, we DON'T have air conditioning so I haven't put on my bed spread yet... until winter it's gonna stay up here...

...in my closet. It's actually pretty nice and decent sized and it holds all of my stuff.

This is the essential area of our dorm (besides the food). We don't really have any drinks in the fridge yet besides Monster, some Jello, Juicey Juice, and water. But come next week when my parents buy me some Cheerwine, that'll all change. And if you don't know what Cheerwine is and you're thinking its got alcohol in it... you're wrong. It's pretty much the BEST cherry coke from South Carolina.

And this is the outside of my dorm...

It's sooo nice. Sorry about the small picture. I got this from the UK website because a. I don't feel like walking outside and taking one for myself (which I will do at some point) and b. I'm really comfortable and don't feel like getting up :)

There is another downside to living on north campus though... all my classes are on south campus. And when I say south campus I mean like a mile and a half away. So I've been taking the UK bus service to and from class everyday and its working out quite nice for me. I probably will walk back occasionally in the fall when its nice and cool out but not when its hot like its been here.

College life has been going good. I had my first two college tests today and I'm pretty sure I rocked them both. I studied for like 5 or 6 hours last night so I think that paid off. I just got inside from smoking hookah with some friends (UK isn't smoke free yet until November) and going to dinner with Patrick at one of the on-campus cafeteria's. They're not that bad at all. Really good food and goooddd ice cream.

On friday, I'm going back home to hang out with the parents and.... JESSIE! I finally get to see her! Even though we've only been away from each other for 2 weeks it feels like a loooonnnggg time. And seeing as how it's labor day weekend, I don't have school on Monday so I'll be staying in Northern until Tuesday morning. But right now I think I'm going to go eat some jello and watch some TV and relax because I don't have any homework. :) I'll talk to you guys soon!

Love,
Morgan

first days of classes!

Hey everyone! I'm officially a college student! Today was my second day of school and it was pretty good. All my classes are great and my professors don't seem that bad. Thank god! During every class I could slowly hear my life being sucked of fun. I can already tell that I'll be in the library A LOT! But I expected that... it is college.

The first day I got here (and since I've moved down), I'll admit I was a little homesick but a wonderful card from my best friend, Jessie, some CD's she made me, and some photos that I had printed off really helped me! In a big big way! These are a few of the pictures that I have sitting next to my bed...

These kids are the best. I love the Belden's and to me they're my second family. I miss you guys so much!

Such a good night. Me, Jess, Kay and Ross. Love you guys!

Carrying Jess in Disney World.

My best friends and I at the Blink 182 concert. Dan, Pat, Me, Jess and Rossy. Miss you guys!

Today, after my classes, I went to the bookstore to buy all of my books. And naturally the one book that I need to do homework tonight is sold out and they have to order more. Just my luck! So now I'm forced to wake up tomorrow at 7:00 AM and drive to school and beat everyone to the library and check out the Math book (you're only allowed to check it out for 2 hours at a time) and photo copy it so I can do my homework. Today in my math class, my professor went over her syllabus for 30 minutes and then used the rest of her time giving us notes and assigning homework, on the first day of class. WOO HOO! But in all of my other classes, I haven't gotten any homework, except to look somethings up and buy the books. All of my classes probably have 20-35 people. Thankfully, I don't have any classes with 300 people.

I started babysitting on Monday and I love it. The kids are great and I'm really enjoying it!

After babysitting I usually go run some errands, get some dinner (chick-fil-a last night, freeeakkkiiinng love that place), coming home, do homework and watching some TV and relaxing. Next week it'll all change when my friends move down to come to school. I'm verryyy excited. I'll be hanging out with them all the time : )

Hope everyone is doing well. I miss you ALL very much!

And Uncle Dan... it smells like up dawg in here!

Love,
Morgan

The Next Chapter In My Life

Hey everyone! Welcome to my new blog!

I decided to create this blog so my friends and family can follow me on my journey as I make the long awaited move to Lexington tomorrow. It's finally here. The moment I've been excited about (and dreading) all summer. Don't get me wrong I'm so excited to live in Lexington but there are a few things I'm going to miss...

My beautiful Mom. She's been able to cry on a dime lately. She's about to become an empty nester and therefore she's going to be stuck with this 24/7...

Good ol' Dave. :)

I'm going to miss all of my friends but I'm really going to miss...

My Best Friend, Jessie. She's moving to Nashville next week to go to college.

My big sister, Shan. She just moved to SC from Lexington (A WEEK BEFORE I MOVE DOWN... thanks sis!) I'm going to miss her!

My sweet little kitty, Kobe. He is my shadow, loves to cuddle me, and when I hold him he acts like a baby and won't let me put him down. I'm really going to miss this little boy.

Here I'll tell you all about college, my life, good times and bad, friends, and how this adventure is going. I'm quite excited to be moving tomorrow. For a few weeks, I'm going to be staying with two friends who also happen to be the cutest married couple EVER, Jen and Ben, until I find a more permanent place to live. I leave sometime tomorrow and I don't have a single thing packed. :) I'm putting it off as long as I can so that reality of leaving won't hit me. I start school on Monday and I'm not going to lie... I'm a little terrified. I'm taking 5 classes my first semester. And this is what my schedule looks like:

Monday and Wednesday:
9:30 AM- 10:45 AM History of the US through 1865
11:00 AM - 12:15 PM American Government
12:30 PM- 1:45 PM Basic Public Speaking
And then at 3, I babysit. Only on Monday and Wednesday. I'm really excited :)

Tuesday and Thursday:
11:00 AM- 12:15 PM Advanced Algebra
12:30 PM- 1:45 PM Writing I

Don't my classes look super fun and exciting!?! (thats big sarcasm, if you can't tell) For my first year of college I'm going to take the required courses and get them out of the way. And so it gives me more time to figure out my major because I have NO idea what I want to do.

Well this week I'm going to work, go to school, explore my new city, (hopefully) make new friends and on Thursday night I'm driving back home to NKY for the weekend. Until next time... and WELCOME to the best days of your life. :)

Love,
Morgan
