love/ hate

LOVES...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Pazzo's. Its a local pizza place here in Lexington and AMAZING. It's also RIGHT next to my dorm which is extremely dangerous. Everyone I've taken there has fallen in love with it. It's soooo good!

I looovveeee pretty sunsets. This one was when I was driving the kids back from Reynold's cub scouts meeting. It was an absolutely perfect day out and we had the windows down and the music blasting.

I get 5 meals a week at on campus cafeterias. Every once in awhile I have a few meals left at the end of the week and so we'll go to the cafeteria right next to my dorm and get ice cream and a coke. haha so delicious and healthy. :)

This was on the side walk in front of my dorm next to a busy intersection. This picture sums up Lexington. I have never been so evasive and run through traffic as much as I have being a college student and walking around campus. I'm so evasive that I do feel like frogger sometimes. Seeing this made my day. But the only thing that sucks is driving and people will randomly walk in front of your car. There's a rumor that if you get hit by a UK vehicle then they will pay for a semester of your tuition. My dad has told me to do this. Thanks Dad.

I never truly understood just how in love and fierce people are about UK basketball... until now...

These are tents. They are wrapped around the ticket office waiting for Big Blue Madness ( which is a scrimmage UK basketball has at midnight every year the day the NCAA allows teams to start practicing, so in reality they're not even lining up for a legit game) I live right next to this and let me tell you there are probably OVER 250 tents there. Most of them have really funny signs outside of their tents, that make me laugh everyday when I walk to class. Like... "Camp Cal-1N1. We've been infected" and " Camp John Wall: in John('s) Hood" (John Wall and John Hood are both basketball players. I thought this one was really crafty) Oh and did I mention the tents started showing up Tuesday morning.... tickets don't go on sale until Saturday.

HATES...

UK parking and just Lexington parking in general suck. They are complete pricks about tickets and towing. They will do both. I saw this poor car today and just wanted to give the owner a hug. A ticket AND a boot. Talk about an FML.

The city of Lexington is sometimes stupid. Take this picture for example.

This is S. Limestone. A street I live off of and an insanely busy one. The stupid city of Lexington decided to start doing construction on this road 2 weeks before classes started. So they didn't do it in the summer when Lexington was quiet... NO! They did it when Lexington gets 25,000 more people added to their population. GENIUS!

This is a picture of my life in the library on Tuesday night. STUDYING. It sucks. But good news: I passed my test :)

Traffic. Living in the suburbs I never really had traffic. In Lexington its an everyday occurrence.

These are just some of my loves and hates of Lex-Vegas. I'll add more as I find them. :)

Today was a good day. I suffered through class and then went and met up with Jen Shaver-Brzinski (bahahahaha Jen I hope a. youre laughing b. youre shaking your head or c. all of the above) We had lunch at Chipotle and I don't think I've laughed that hard in a LONG time. We laughed until our stomachs hurt. While leaving Chipotle, we passed this creepy van...

Normal right? Take a closer look....

You can't really tell because of the glare (We were trying to be sneaky) but this dashboard is stacked with all things creepy (skulls, dolls, etc.) We couldn't not take a picture of it. It only added to our laughter. Good food and good conversation :) Can't wait to do it again.

Then after lunch I went to my dorm to get a few things packed up and then went to Barnes and Noble and to read some magazines. (If you don't know this about me already, I love magazines. If you ask me pretty much anything about celebrities or their lives I can probably answer it.) Then I went to babysit. I took the kids to a local church so Reynolds could go to his cub scout meeting. On the way there we blasted Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" with the windows down. Reynolds, hated every minute of it. He plugged his ears and told us it was stupid a thousand times. Every time, I'd just turn the music up louder. Ellie, his little sister, danced and sang along. Girl power. While at his meeting, Ellie and I sat out in my car and played these random games involving Skittles. She also found my wipeys that my dad put in my car, so she became fascinated with cleaning my windows and windshield with them. I now have a nice and shiny windows thanks to her. On the way back home, we put on Taylor Swift again, windows rolled down and thats where we saw the pretty sunset above. Lovely.

Well thats about it for now. I really do need to get to sleep. I'm driving down to Nashville tomorrow to see Jessie!!!! Can't wait and I'll take tons of pictures for you guys.

Love love love,

Morgan

"love is patient. love is kind..."

This weekend has been sooo... extremely relaxing and it is just what I needed! I never imagined how 'on the go' I would be at college! Well on Thursday, I went to class, walked to the hospital to get a shot (yay for not having to worry about dying from meningitis!), and walked back to my dorm then out to dinner with a friend, went home, packed a few things (books for homework, mostly) and headed home. I have been doing nothing other than sleeping and relaxing and I feel SO much better!

Last night, I felt like watching a movie or two. One of those movies happened to be...

I forgot how much I truly LOVE that movie! I watched it twice last night and once this afternoon. You CANNOT beat that movie. I know its kind of cheesy but the love story is truly magical. And it has an amazing bible verse in it...

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

--1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

That verse is soo... beautiful and I just absolutely love that movie!

This week I've slowly started planning my next four weeks ahead and to say the least, I'm EXCITED! Next weekend, UK vs. U of L game. The next weekend, UK vs. Florida game. Then, on October 1st my fall break starts. So on September 31st or October 1st, I'm driving down to Nashville and hanging out with Jess for the weekend. That next weekend, Keeneland opens. And the October 14th, my other best friend (she moved up to Minnesota the day after we graduated from high school) come back down! SOOO freaking excited for that! When she comes down, all of my best friends and I get back together and it's going to be CRAZY and SO MUCH FUN! Looking back at that paragraph and all of my plans makes me really excited and I just can't wait :)

Tomorrow afternoon or night, I'm driving back down to Lexington. Yay! I'm really loving Lexington! Or should I call it Lex- Vegas. haha Well I really can't put off my homework any longer. I have a speech and a paper to write. I'll talk to you guys soon!

goodbyes

Hey everyone! Just to let you know I added the pictures I promised to my previous post... so check 'em out! The weekend is finally here and I'm back home in Northern Kentucky. I came home for two reasons: 1. I wanted to see my family and friends 2. all of my best friends were leaving for college this weekend and I wanted to come up to say goodbye to them. So, after babysitting on Thursday I jumped in my car and zoomed home, ate dinner with my parents and then went over to my best friend, Jessie's house. While there, we had a little impromptu shin-dig, one last party, or as some might call it a going away party. It was the perfect excuse to get together with all of my friends and just hang out before we all go our separate ways. Here are a few pictures from the party...

Dancing with Jess

Jessie's stepmom, Ton, Ross, Ross' mom, Rita, and I

I freaking love these boys!

Ross and Patrick.

This is Rita aka my other mom. She is wonderful and I love her!

Whenever I'm with my friends I know I'll always have a good time! I love my crazy friends. :)

Today has been an insanely tough day for me. 100x harder than I imagined. Today, I had to say goodbye to my best friend, Jessie, who is moving to Nashville to go to college. Here's some of my favorite pictures of us...

Whale riding in Publix.

Disney World

She was supposed to leave at 3 but thankfully, they didn't leave till 5:30, so I got to spend a little more time with her. I thought I was going to be ok. I thought I would be able to hold it in but as soon as the cars started up and I hugged her... waterworks. After finally letting go, she drove off and I was a wreck. I didn't stop crying all the way home and I couldn't see a damn thing. I'm going to miss that girl so freaking much. We haven't spent more than a week apart and now she lives 300 miles away. You're one of a kind Jess. I love you with all my heart. Remember...

Well in other news, I'm driving back down to my new home, Lexington, on Sunday and starting up my second week of college! Have an awesome weekend and I'll talk to you guys soon!

Morgan
